Hi Sanvid_89,

There are a few differences between the TOEFL iBT and the TOEFL PBT.

The first difference refers to the test format. The TOEFL iBT test is an internet based test and takes place online whereas the TOEFL PBT test is paper-based.

Secondly, the skills assessed in each test format are slightly different:

TOEFL iBT: reading, listening, speaking and writing skills
TOEFL PBT: reading, listening, grammar and writing skills

Finally, the tests use different scoring systems. The TOEFL PBT scores range from 310 to 677 points and the TOEFL iBT has a maximum score of 120 points.

The TOEFL iBT is offered more than 50 times a year and is administered online at testing sites around the world. The TOEFL PBT test is currently only offered in locations where testing via the internet is not available. This means you would most likely to sit the TOEFL iBT unless your test centre is in an area with limited internet access.

I hope this clarifies things for you!
